Bridal Jewelry Tips

That rock on your finger isn’t the only jewelry that you’re going to be sporting on your wedding day. You have to plan ahead of time exactly what necklace you’d like to wear with your wedding gown – this means knowing what pieces will complement your look rather than take it over. To determine the necklace you’ll be wearing on your wedding day, pay close attention to your gown’s details and neckline. Here are a few more tips to help you in your search.

Bridal Jewelry Tips

Halter and Low-Neckline Gowns

Thin drop down necklaces look best with low necklines or halter-style gowns. You can even add a pendant for a little extra sparkle. Large pieces aren’t a good idea – they’ll just be a distraction from the beauty of your dress! You should avoid chokers, also, because they’ll make your chest seem broad and deep. You may even want to opt for a single strand of pearls that hangs about three or four inches from your neck – this would be beautiful.

Strapless and Off-the-Shoulder Gowns

Strapless and off-the-shoulder gowns have a larger space to work with when choosing a necklace to wear, so it’s hard to go wrong here. A thin choker with a large pendant or pearls would look great. Short necklaces work really well with strapless gowns, giving you an elegant look. Fan-style necklaces will add detail to your look, and goes especially well with a simple strapless gown.

High Necklines

High necklines should either be combined with long necklaces or nothing at all. It all just depends on the details in your gown. If your dress already has a ton of embellishments, then you don’t need a necklace – it will just look too busy.

Color

Don’t be scared to add a little color with the use of stones such as garnets, sapphires or emeralds. Just try your best to not overdo it. Small injections of color, could pull your whole look together.
