It is important to know the details of a diamond. Know your diamond cuts and know your diamond shapes. For example the way a diamond is cut can play a substantial role in the price. The shape is also a thing you want to make sure you know. Round cut diamonds are usually used for 78% of engagement ring which makes them higher priced because of the demand. The Four C’s is a necessity to know. If you do not know these you need to study them and then study some more. To put this in simpler terms. There are four factors that go into getting the PERFECT diamond. The factors all happen to start with a C. Carat Weight (how big is your diamond), Color (does it look yellow or transparent), Clarity (are there inclusions), Cut(has it been cut to perfection or is it rough). These characteristics can potentially alter the price of your engagement ring for better or for worse. Our one piece of advice is to do your research on diamonds. Rare Pink Diamond Theft Comes to a Head After a few days of speculation, Queensland police in the UK believe they have targeted the rare pink diamond theft. Matthew Osborne, 29 was visiting Australia and made a dramatic decision to steal a pink diamond from a local jewelry store in Cairns. Witnesses say Osborne escaped on a bicycle. Petra Diamonds Finds 29.60 ct Vivid Blue Diamond Petra Diamonds is making De Beers kick themselves for this one. In 2008 De Beers sold Petra Diamonds Cullinan Mine in South Africa. Pink Star Diamond Sells at Auction for a Stunning 83 Million A diamond that weighed an astounding 132.5 Carats before it was cut and polished just sold at Sotheby’s Auction House in Geneva for $83 million! The stone measures 1.06” x 0.81” and weighs an approximate 59.60 cts.
