Get the Look for Less: Naya Rivera

Get the Look for Less: Naya Rivera

So by now we all know about Glee star Naya Rivera’s stunning rock. Naya first flaunted us with the sparkler back in October and took to instagram showing off the jewels captioning, “Latina #ladymoment”. It was definitely a moment indeed. The ring is everything a woman could dream of. It is a cushion cut diamond center stone set in a micro-pavé halo setting. The center stone appears to be a whopping 5-6 carats, cushion cut shape diamond. From photographs it appears that the stone is virtually colorless, maybe a G in color and VVS1 in clarity. A stone like this can cost up to $200,000! But don’t worry, if you love this style but don’t have thousands to throw at an engagement ring we have the perfect solution for you!

Some tips to remember is sometimes buying a loose diamond is more economic, a setting costs wayyy less than an actual diamond. If you want to save money go down in color, but up in clarity. The better the clarity the better the diamond will shine. Also if you are going lower in color grade, putting the diamond in a white setting (platinum or white gold) can enhance the look of the stone.

1. Zales

Engagement Ring SettingsThis cushion cut diamond set in a micro-pave diamond halo setting. It looks almost identical to Naya’s, but is a fraction of the cost. The ring retails on Zales for $4,000. The center stone weighs 5/8 and the complete total carat weight including the setting is 1 carat. The metal type is platinum, which is the best of the best for ring settings, very strong and very durable.

2. Raymond Lee Jewelers

This is an estate jewelry buyer and seller located in Boca Raton, Florida. They have been in Halo Set Engagement Ringbusiness for over 30 years and are a very well known store in the South Florida area. One great thing about their engagement rings is most of them aren’t pre-owned! This ring for example was a stone that was re-set into a new mounting. The stone is E in color, SI3 in clarity (which is REALLY good if you don’t know diamond terms). The diamond is set in an 18k white gold micro pave setting. The center diamond is actually a round diamond, but because of the setting is appears to be a cushion cut halo, this is a nice little trick if you can’t locate a good priced cushion cut! This ring retails for $4,995 but can easily be bargained down.

3. Helzberg Diamond Masterpiece

heiznScreen Shot 2014-03-29 at 2.09.07 PMThis site sells a stunning radiant cut diamond set in a micro pave halo setting. This center stone is only 3/8, but the ring features 16 round brilliant diamonds accompanying the diamond. The great thing about buying a halo set engagement ring is even if the center stone is smaller, the micro-pavé diamonds create an illusion for the center diamond, making it appear larger! The ring is one of the top rated on their site and retails for $3,995.
