How to Choose Bridal Jewelry

You are on display on your wedding day, so it’s important that you look your best. All eyes will be on you, so you’re going to want your hair, dress and accessories to look absolutely perfect. When it comes to choosing the bridal jewelry for your wedding day, just follow these guidelines to help you pick the right pieces.

How to Choose Bridal Jewelry

  1. Don’t pick jewelry for the sake of wearing jewelry. You may not even need to wear jewelry at all. The style of your dress will determine whether you need jewelry. If your wedding dress is elaborate with diamantes, pearls, and sequins, or its fabric goes high at the neck and long on the sleeves, then adding jewelry may make the final look too loud.
  2. Enhance the beauty of your dress with jewelry, don’t ruin or hide it with bridal jewelry. Do you have a lower neckline that a necklace and earrings would look good with? Are your sleeves short enough for a bracelet to add to your dresses beauty?
  3. Reflect the type of jewelry with features of your dress. If your dress has color gems, pearls, or sequins, then you should wear jewelry that matches this in a balanced fashion. Don’t overdo it, though, and throw off the balance.
  4. Allow your hairstyle to control wedding jewelry selection. If you are wearing your hair up, then dangling earrings may be the best choice. But, as said before, don’t wear anything that takes over the finished look. Whatever you wear should complement your dress as a whole, and your final look needs to show you off, not take you over.
  5. Choose jewelry that reflects your personality and who you are. You should feel comfortable in what you are wearing. Your dress matches your personality, just as the jewelry should. If you feel more comfortable with simpler jewelry, then select items that match your dress and your personality.
