How to Clean Your Jewelry
Most people think you need high-tech equipment to clean your luxurious jewels, when in reality you can get that sparkly new look right at home! All that you need is some at-home supplies!
Gold Jewelry
What you will need
- Drying Cloth or Towel
- Liquid Dishwasher Soap
- A toothbrush
For 15 minutes you want to keep your gold jewelry in a soapy solution. It should consist of 2 cups of warm water and a couple of drops of liquid dishwasher soap. Once it has soaked go ahead and take it out and give it a good scrub with the tooth brush. After you have scrubbed all that dirt off of your jewelry give it a quick rinse in the sink! It should look brand new!
Diamond Jewelry
What you will need:
- Ammonia
- Water
- Light Bristle Toothbrush
- Tissue to Dry Jewelry on
Cleaning a diamond is not only good for the gem, but it will make the stone appear to have better quality you want to always make sure your diamonds are kept in pristine shape. Take one cup of warm water and mix in 1/4 cup of ammonia. Let the jewelry sit for 20 minutes. Once time has passed, under warm sink water rinse your jewelry while simultaneously cleaning it with a light bristled toothbrush. If the diamond is set in platinum your setting will also be cleaned!
Silver Jewelry
What you will need:
- Silver Polishing Cloth or Silver Cleaning Liquid
- Soft Cloth
Silver is one of the easiest things to clean. They are numerous products on the market that will get your silver in pristine condition. We recommend a polishing cloth because usually this is the easiest method and gets the job done. If you have intricate designed within your silver you might want a liquid or a paste and gently massage it in, let sit and then remove with a smooth cloth.
