How to Clean Your White Gold Engagement Ring

If you decided to take the route of white gold jewelry over platinum, you need to take extra care of your engagement ring. White gold tends to tarnish more easily, so follow these steps to get your ring looking just as stunning as the day your fiancé proposed to you.

How to Clean Your White Gold Engagement Ring

  1. Place two small bowls of warm water on a towel. Stir in 1 teaspoon of baking soda in one bowl and place your ring in the same bowl. Let the ring soak for 15 to 30 minutes.
  2. Put a small amount of toothpaste on a toothbrush and carefully scrub the crevices and curves of the ring. Then, place the ring into the bowl with clean water and swirl it around until it’s cleaned off.
  3. After rinsing off the ring, take it out of the water, set on the towel and pat it dry.
  4. Use a jewelry polishing cloth to buff the ring until it shines. For any extra toothpaste or baking soda left on the ring, use a cotton swab to remove it and continue to polish.
