Planning A Wedding
5 Wedding Day Details You Can’t Forget
Alright, all of the big parts of the wedding are covered – you’ve got your groom, the cake and the dress, wedding bands for him and her. Don’t forget to check off the little things that are often times overlooked, though. Even the tiniest details can take your wedding from beautiful and memorable, to a flop.
The last thing you want is your guests getting lost on the way to the ceremony. Give them a map and directions so that they know exactly where they need to go. At the site of your wedding, include signs that shoe the guests where to park and what doors to enter. Spelling it out for them makes the day go by so much easier.
2. The Entrance
It’s no secret that first impressions are kind of a big deal. Make you entryway more personalized to make your guests feel comfortable and at home immediately. If you’re having an outdoor wedding, consider placing glass ornaments in the trees to catch the light of the sun and reflect beautiful colors. For a ballroom, have your florist create an arrangement with lots of height so it’s the first thing guests see when they walk in. If you’re going for a rustic look, place a ton of lanterns along the pathway leading into the venue.
3. The Guest Book
Why not really get your guests attention and entice them with a fun guest book? Provide a Polaroid camera and a nice backdrop for your friends and family to take pictures in front of. Then they can put the photo in the guest book and sign next to it!
4. The Lighting
Looking for a quick way to flatter any space? The right lighting can really help! Colored lighting can spice up any drab space. Just hang up some decorative lights or crystal chandeliers to make the space look spectacular.
5. The Exit
This is your last chance to get your personal style across to your guests and leave them with a memory that will last forever, so take advantage. For those of you with a higher budget, spring for some fireworks to end your night with a bang, literally! For something a little less extravagant, have your guests light up sparklers as you leave. To end the night off right, drive off in a vintage car with a “Just Married” sign on the back.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. To make it one you won’t forget, don’t skip over any of these small, but important, details!
